WordPress Front End Developer

We are seeking a Front-End WordPress developer to join our growing web studio in Old Town Alexandria, VA. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working teams, directly with clients and confidant enough to take the lead when necessary. Must be able to cut PSD’s to HMTL, CSS, and perform WordPress installs. Must have strong HTML, and CSS experience. JavaScript experience is a plus. We are a Linux/Windows/Mac-friendly shop and need a team player to join us.

Must be willing to work on premise in Old Town Alexandria, VA. The office is located in an amazing studio right next to the Potomac River with great views.

About You:

  • You are passionate about creating simple, friendly, and compelling WordPress sites for clients.
  • You have approximately 3 years of web design experience for web design.
  • You have experience working with product developers and managers to translate a design vision into a reality.
  • You went to a reputable design school and are well-trained in the fundamentals of design.
  • You have a solid understanding of web standards.
  • You’re as comfortable wire framing or rapid prototyping as you are building pixel-perfect comps.
  • You’re flexible, versatile, and fast, with extreme attention to detail.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

PR Associate

Hiring for a PR Associate that can help take its brand to the next level. This is a rapidly growing company with tremendous opportunities for a hard-working, resourceful, hands-on associate who adds to the team to enhance the brand’s exposure to the Capitol Hill. We provide web services nationwide to commercial brand names but also the senate and House of Representatives.

The ideal candidate is someone who is entrepreneurial, hard-working, highly-organized, and understands the needs of the team, department and business. This person will play a critical role in the developing strong PR and help with sales.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the team’s efforts to establish and maintain relationships with the prospects by researching potential target, building contact lists and shipping marketing material
  • Support the team in setting up sales appointments
  • Help to enhance firms in-house PR capabilities by: drafting press releases, media advisories, newsletters, fact sheets, e-mail blasts and Web site copy
  • Maintain firms presence on social networking Web sites, including: Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, YouTube and Flickr
  • Provide creative ideas and plans to support overall public relations and marketing efforts; and

Requirements:

  • Must have 2-3 years experience working for a web or marketing agency in the Communications, Journalism, or Marketing field

PHP Developer

Immediate openings for technical individuals with design skills and solid understanding of open source CMS systems.

Most of the assignment will be to create “themes” for open source based sites, which require solid CSS and HTML skills. Selected candidates will work in a dynamic team environment, on variety of projects, ranging from simple sites to complex collaborative sites. The compensation will be very competitive, based on qualifications.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in HTML/CSS development.
  • Solid understanding of CSS and HTML.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent field desirable but not a must.
  • Basic understanding of PHP or similar programming language is required.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript, AJAX, and web 2.0 type of sites and functionality.
  • Possess good oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a team environment. Must be extremely creative.
  • Must have solid understanding and knowledge of Photoshop
